WATER NETWORK & TRANSMISSION LINES DRAWING and MODELLING PROGRAM
msSu is a water network, transmission lines drawing and modelling software which
can make hydraulic modelling, developed for municipalities, utility authorities, infrastructure
establishments, civil and enviromental engineering, contractor companies and GIS applications.
MicroStation Support
Developed by the programming language of Microstation, MDL(Microstation Development Language),
msSu can perform advanced element drawings, calculation and design, modifications and database
processes in a fast and flexible way with the strenght of Microstation on graphic and non-graphic
media. This software runs on versions of Microstation V8, XM and 8i and can be upgraded for new
versions.
Strong Visual Planning
Planning can be easily made by the elements (node, pipe, catchment area, pump) in the project
and the system that is created can be seen immediately. In this way, not only the draft structure
but also the main skeleton of the system is established and data for calculation and design can
be prepared in a short time.
Create Elements
MsSu does not only place the elements, also creates needed data belonging to the elements
in database immediately.
DTM (Digital Terrain Model) (Optional)
With the DTM property of msSu, there is no need for inputting node ground elevation by
interpolation manually on digital maps. If DTM of the region exists, manhole ground elevation
belonging to the node points will be inputted automatically in the model and written into the
database as the nodes are placed.
Flexible Parameters and Settings
- Node names can be linked to a counter automatically,
- Standart sized pipes with the required diameter and material and
its properties can be defined in a pipe catalogue, only required ones
can be taken into consideration while designing and different pipe
catalogues can be created,
- Settings can be done for element placing and any change on these
settings is possible during the preparation of the project,
- Properties of the elements such as color, thickness, line style,
layer and font can be defined and changed as desired,
- Catchment area types, that is used for flow rate calculations of
water, can be defined in catchment area criteria, properties like density
and water consumption can be changed.
Calculation and Design
- Calculations with the formulas of Darcy/Colebrook, William-Hazen,
- Calculations and designs done for death point method and branch method for networks,
- Flow rate calculations done by population density coefficient, catchment area method,
- Upon selection the the catchment area criteria method, values like unit flow rate,
population, peak-day, peak-hour, coefficient and fire flow values can be changed before
calculations, or can be redefined and redesigned again and again,
- Flow direction of the pipes in the system can be configurated by “Sort Pipe” command
before designing,
- In design, criterias like velocity, minimum and maximum pressure, velocity tolerance
can be changed and redefined for each diameter.
Additional Flow rates
Additional flow rates, that will be taken into consideration in the future, can be
defined and proceeding the design with these considered data is possible
User Intervention
The results calculated in the design can be edited and modified in the system.
For instance user can edit the the diameter of the pipe calculated in the design
and use this new value for calculation, invert elevations of inlet and outlet pipes
can be locked or pipe status can be turned into existing system pipe etc
Profile
- Profile of all projects in transmission lines, can be taken automatically at
once, can be saved into other drawing files and printed out.
- Elevation and gradient of node and pipe editings can be made directly on the
transmiisın profiles automatically,
Calculation, Construction and Transmission Plans
Hydraulic, construction and transmission plans of networks can be automatically taken.
Superposition
Shall the wastewater and stormwater models designed by msKanal, superposition points of
drinking water, wastewater and stormwater networks can be analysed and drawn on profiles.
Changes and Reports
Required changes are possible after input of the elements. For instance,
node elevation and name or diameter and material of a pipe. Upon change,
both database and design model are updated on the screen at the same time.
Node Point Details, Calculation Reports
Calculation reports, statistic reports (diameter, pipe lenght, quantity of
node points), node point details, bend lists, bill of quantities of whole
or any desired region can be generated and printed out.
Automatic Element Placement
Surveyed nodes and pipes with an existing information (coordinates, elevations,
pipe size diameter etc)can be created with database information drawn with the
praphical element (Creating both graphic and database information by a single click).
Visual, Thematic Colorization
Results of the model can be turned into a coloured thematic visual maps on
the basis of node, pipe and area and calculated fields like velocity, pressure
Water Hammer Calculations
Calculation of water hammer can be observed.
About MsSu
MsSu software is a drawing and designing module for drinking water networks and
transmissions, developed by turkish programmers and engineers. MsSu runs under versions
of Microstation V8, XM, 8i and is an essential for municipalities that has activities on
infrastructure and transmission.
